It all depends on the exact impression and generational statement you want
to make.  For example, according to my notes here this is where I'm
supposed to flame you for thinking that *real* Trek is about some
pansy-boat with a limp-writed, tea-sipping captain who just stands by
while his first officer romances all the cute aliens.  This establishes my
old-show cred and allows you to fire back about gun-toting cowboy
Americans colonizing the galaxy, and so on.

Of course, ideally your part should be argued by someone quite a bit 
younger than I am. :-)

I'm really not practiced at this--maybe we should have a back-to-back
showing of Trekkies and Trekkies II to help get into the right frame of
mind.
