This has a number of Linux/Java/Swing/etc development coverage, too. Plus, per the CodeCamp manifesto, it’s all free.

www.SGVDotNet.Org told me about this and I plan to go. It looks outstanding (and overwhelming). And it's free!
(Sat)1930 there is also a Geek Dinner (www.socalcodecamp.com/GeekDinner.aspx) featuring 2 rock bands (www.evildoersmusic.net & www.killola.com).
These CodeCamps started in 2005.02.05 and there have been many since then, mostly in the US, with about 70 happened or happening As of now ( www.bostondotnet.org/CodeCamp/default.aspx/CodeCamp/CodeCampSchedule.html )
LA & ORANGE COUNTY PROGRAMMING USER GROUPS: if you don't already know about it, I would strongly encourage you to check out and advertise www.SoCalCodeCamp.com . It is a free 2-day "conference" on dozens of programming topics, plus alternative rock bands, taking place this Sat & Sun at Cal State Fullerton. And it looks pretty huge: There are 712 users registered so far. 2 days with 8 to 9 sessions going on at all times - see www.socalcodecamp.com/schedule.aspx . It looks like roughly 80% .NET, 15% Java/Ruby/Ant/Swing/etc, and 5% software business & careers. However, with the sheer volume of simultaneous sessions, even non-.NET programmers could be non-stop busy.
Once you've logged in, click on www.socalcodecamp.com/sessions.aspx and select the sessions which interest you (which seem to save automatically --I suppose when you click on another link on that page). Note you have to simutaneously view the schedules page to see your choice options (note 8 to 9 are scheduled at the same time, and it doesn't look like any repeat).
