[Dev-sig] cvs keyword weirdness

I was just curious if anyone could explain this...
When I check-in a file to CVS, and it has the keyword '$Id: $' in there
somewhere, instead of it getting labeled the way CVS normally does, it
gets changed to '$Id$'.
Normally it would get changed to something like '$Id: filename.c,v 1.1
2007/03/29 22:19:16 sod Exp $', but instead it becomes '$Id$'.
I don't have this problem on any other CVS repository/server, just this
particular one (which I don't have root-access too, in case that matters).
Any ideas? I've never experienced this problem before, but I'm sure
there is a logical explanation.
Thanks,
