I've done demos like that at various events - it helps to have a large 
monitor (or two) or projector to show off what's happening, and a decent 
sound system so that people can hear the detail. Unfortunately I won't 
be able to make SCALE as I am back in the UK now, but I'm perfectly 
happy to answer any questions if that would help.

You could also ask for volunteers on the linux-audio-user mailing list 
once it is back up from maintenance.
